SHF KEG12 Short barrelled 12ga AOW Shotgun
Safety Harbor Firearms' KEG12 is an AOW, or "any other weapon" per B.A.T.F.'s classification, designed for firearms under the NFA (National Firearms Act of 1934) that do not fall into a specific category. There's a tax stamp of only $5 and it must be legal where the buyer resides (please check your local laws as it varies). The KEG 12 is made of a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500 shotgun. SHF makes them into 2 barrel sizes, 7 1/4" or 10". The shorter barrel holds 3 rounds while the 10" holds 4. According to the president, Walter Keller, these AOW's are improved over the competition and the main difference is that the KEG12's action can be pumped with the forward grip folded. As of this SHOT Show, it retails for $745 for the Remington and $675 for the Mossberg. The KEG12 I handled is really compact and it looks like tons of fun at the range. Maybe someday I'll get to test fire it! If I do, expect a lengthy review!
